A ‘work of great rarity’ (Carteret), for the author's only novel, a landmark tale of Romanticism that was largely inspired by the relationship between Musset and Sand.
A pleasant copy, with wide margins, in a sober modern binding in the taste of the period.
Some scattered foxing.
