Illustrated edition.
Very fine copy, wide margins, illustrated with the portrait of La Fontaine as a frontispiece by Hiacinte Rigault and 25 engravings by Moreau the Younger.
The most complete edition to date on the fabulist (Brunet) from which "examples have been taken in fine paper, in square vellum paper, and in large vellum raisin, proofs before the letter: 20 of the latter have the etchings". (Brunet, III, 748).
Slightly sunned spine with scattered foxing.
